Item Views: 947
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 103
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

This is an excellent example of an early Type 14, small trigger guard pistol manufactured in January 1933 at the Kokura Arsenal factory. The pistol has the pre-war rust blue finish with 'straw' colored trigger, safety lever and magazine release. The mahogany grip panels have 25-grooves. The magazine has a nickel-plated body and cast aluminum base. The right side of the slide is marked with the Nagoya Nambu symbols followed by the serial number, "25751" and the right side of the frame is stamped with an Kanji inspection mark followed by "8.1" date of manufacture behind the grip panels. The last three digits of the serial number "751" are stamped on the top of the bolt, the front of the cocking knob and the side of the trigger. The magazine is numbered 319 on the spine. The pistol is complete with a late production rubberized clam-shell style holster that has numerous Kanji markings on the font cover with some small ones on the inside.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 98% of the original wartime blued finish just starting to brown and oxidize a little on the front and back grip straps with general light wear on the edges and high spots. There is 25 % of the straw color on the small parts mostly in the protected area. The holster is in excellent condition with nice clear markings.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Manufactured in November 1943 (18.11) by the Nagoya Nambu-Kokubunji Factory. Early style cocking knob with the three sections of knurling and late style large trigger guard. Blue with straw colored components. Fitted with horizontally serrated grips. Has a blued magazine with aluminum base numbered to the gun. Complete with a canvas clam shell holster with shoulder strap and an extra magazine also numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 98% original blue finish with gray forming on some of the high edges and thinning on the grip straps. The straw color is very fine. The fire and safety positions on the frame have been hand marked "F" and "S" respectively. The grips are excellent with some scattered minor dings and scratches. The holster is very fine with some minor handling marks and some loosening of the glue. The stitching is tight.
