Description:

Manufactured from 1920 to 1944, this is a solid example of a scarce pre-war Model 8 pistol. The pistol serial number is located on the right side of the frame behind the grip and "MADE IN GERMANY" on the left vertically behind the trigger. The left side of the slide is marked: "Walther's Patent Mod. 8" above the Walther Banner. The right side of the slide is marked: "Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thur.)". There is a "crown/N" proof on the right side of the slide and frame, and the barrel at the muzzle. Fitted with two piece checkered hard rubber grips with the brass and blue enamel inlays, script "CW" on the left and "6.35" on the right.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% original blue finish with some high edge wear and a few scattered minor dings and handling marks with the trigger guard showing a smooth silver gray patina. The grips are good with the lower front corner of the right grip having been broken and reglued together, with some chipping on the upper edge of the left panel. The checkering is sharp overall. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
