Description:

This is a super rare example of a "Nickel" plated Mauser Model WTP I. It should be noted that any Mauser factory, nickel plate pistol should be considered VERY rare as this finish was very seldom used. This was Mauser's first post-WWI design semi-automatic vest pocket pistol, and production ran from 1920 to late 1930s when the WTP II was introduced. The had a 2 1/2 inch barrel with a 6-round magazine (without the Mauser Banner on the bottom) with a set of black wrap around grips. The serial number of this pistol indicates that it was made fairly early probably in the late 1920s. The left side is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.-G. OBERNDORFAN. / W.T.R.-6,35-D.R.P.U.A.P." and the right side of the frame is marked with a Crown / U proof on the front of the slide and the chamber area of the barrel. The wrap around grips are checkered in the middle and have the "Mauser" Banner logo on the top of each grip. It also has a very rare prewar shoulder holster as manufactured and marked, "ADOLF WOLE/LUDWIGSBURG" The holster is complete with the original leather shoulder strap and carrying rings.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with approximately 95% of the original factory nickel plated finish with wear on the front type and side of the slide. With some thinning and finish loss on the safety lever. The grips are in excellent condition with no cracks or damage with only minor handling marks. The leather shoulder holster is also in excellent condition with nice tight stitching, and it has an unusual plastic or leather loop around the edges that was intended as decoration, but is completely original to the holster.
