NB - EXCELLENT- near new condition 95% - 98%, used but little, no noticeable marring of wood or metal, bluing near perfect (some wear at muzzle or sharp edges can be expected).

This is a near new Iranian 1309 short rifle made at the Teheran Factory. Previously it was thought only Model 49 carbines were made at that factory and all 98/29 were made by FN. This rifle is discussed and described on page 272 of the Mauser Military Rifles of the World 4th edition. Protected blade front and Farsi-numbered tangent rear sights, with the Iranian Crest on the receiver ring, untranslated markings on either side, and matching numbered polished bolt. Smooth pistol grip stock numbered to receiver with sling swivels and a flat butt. A rare find for the Mauser collector.

Excellent, 98% of the original blue finish, showing a few mild handling marks overall and a few tiny areas of bright gray patina on the barrel. Stock is very good, with some mild pressure dents and scratches. Action is excellent.
