These rifles were a standard shipboard device primarily used by the U.S. Navy. They were built on the H & R single shot shotgun only fitted with heavy "reinforced" barrel in 45-70, a line-spooling drum mounted to the forearm. Marked "RE-ENFORCED BREECH" on the left side of the frame, Smooth pistol grip stock with "U(anchor)S" stenciled in white on the butt and a vented recoil pad. In a red painted case with 10 brass projectiles and a box of 45-70 blanks.

Good plus with 40% of original blue in the protected areas, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall. Hints of bright case colors are visible on the frame, with mild handling marks. Stock is very good, with flecks of white paint and a few small chips. Mechanically very good.
