Description:

In operation through the 19th and 20th Centuries, Wostenholm was a leading name in the Sheffield cutlery business, and one of the top quality exporters to the American market. Measuring 5" long, the single edged spear point blade is extensively marked on the left side, with "C. WOSTENHOLM& SON/ WASHINGTON WORKS/ SHEFFIELD (last line faint)", "THE REAL I*XL KNIFE" in a banner, "THE HUNTERS COMPANION" and "I*XL" on the ricasso. Full size tang, with each grip consisting of a pair of silver plates with raised patterns on either side of a smooth mother of pearl panel, riveted to a brass plate.

Rating Definition:

Good as period cleaned. Pitting is visible on the bright blade, along with mild handling marks overall. Grips are very good, with some small dents on the silver plates.
