Active from 1882 to 1948, members of the Saynor family had been active in the cutlery business starting no later than the 1850s. Blade is 9 3/4" long, nearly 2 inches wide at the center and 1/4" thick, with a 4 3/4" back clip leading into a 2" false edge, a light hollow grind to the front edge, and the makers marks "SAYNOR COOKE/ & RIDAL/ SHEFFIELD" on the left ricasso. German silver hilt fittings, with circle-patterned dual quillions, silver pommel and tang covering, and a pair of contoured smooth multicolored horn grips.

Very good, with some light spotting on the bright blade, areas of aged patina on the silver, and a few tiny scratches on the grip panels, which have attractive natural looking contrasting colors.
