Description:

Active through the 19th and 20th Centuries, Wostenholm was a top name in the Sheffield trade, and produced some of the best blades available on the American market. Measuring 9" long with a spear point and 4 inch false edge, the blade is extensively marked on the left side, with "THE HUNTERS COMPANY/ WARRANTED NOT TO BE/ EXCELLED IN QUALITY" visible on the blade. Blade measures a quarter inch thick at the ricasso, with a full length ricasso, silver finished pewter cross guard and pommel accents with raised designs stag horn grip panels.

Rating Definition:

Fair. Pitting and a dark patina is visible on the blade, obscuring the makers marks, along with some tiny chips on the blade. The silver shows a fine aged patina, with some exposed areas along the edges. Grips are very good.
