Description:

Possibly Philippine or Chinese in origin, this bronze swivel cannon measures 47 1/2 inches long, 41 1/2 inches to the touchhole, with bore width 1 1/2 inches. A flared octagonal decorative plate is fitted at the muzzle, 4 inches wide with a fixed sight. The cannon begins round, turning to five flats remaining round on the underside at the adjustable elevation mount. The cannon features raised decorative patterns. There are no maker markings or proofs. This gun may have been a trophy from the Spanish American War or the Boxer Rebellion.

Rating Definition:

Good. The cannon has a smooth dark brown patina with some material loss on the muzzle face.
