Description:

1) US Ames M1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber with Scabbard, "NP AMES/CABOTVILL/1845" and "US/JH" marked on the ricassos. OAL: 41 3/4" with a 36" blade. 2) US Mansfield & Lamb M1860 Calvary Saber with Scabbard. "MANSFIELD/&/LAMB/FORESTDALE R.I." in oval and "US/GGS/862" marked on the ricassos. OAL: 41 3/8" with a 35" blade.

Rating Definition:

1) Good overall, with grey patina. cleaning/sharpening evidence, and spotting throughout. Grip is cracked and the wire rap is absent. Scabbard is fair with dent at the tip, brown patina and oxidation/pitting throughout. 2) Good overall with scattered grey patina, cleaning/sharpening evidence, and scattered spotting. Grip is chipping and cracking. Scabbard is fair with brown patina throughout and scattered pitting.
