Description:

Manufactured in 1875. This is an example of a Colt House Revolver that was produced in the cloverleaf model production sequence, but with an unfluted, 5-shot round cylinder. The revolver has the two line Hartford barrel address, "41 CAL" on the left side of the frame and the 1871 patent date stamped in the rear sight groove. The rear face of the cylinder is marked with the letter "C" and is the only marking. The grips are numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 95% original blue finish and the cylinder retains 60% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The frame retains traces of original silver plating in the protected areas with the exposed brass having an attractive untouched aged patina. The grips are excellent showing light edge wear and retaining almost all of the original varnish. Mechanically excellent.
