Manufactured in 1899. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent dates ahead of the rear sight and "22 Cal." on the left upper flat at the breech. The Rampant Colt is marked on the left side of the receiver and the serial number on the lower tang. Blade front and fixed rear sights, half magazine, upper tang drilled and tapped (two holes) and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber Colt buttplate.

Fine. The rifle retains 60% original blue finish with areas of smooth brown patina and edge wear. There is a small amount of minor pitting on the barrel. The wood is fine with a few overall scattered minor dings and scratches. There is a small chip on the stock toe and a moderate chip on the toe of the buttplate. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
