Description:

Manufactured from 1857 to 1864. Bead front and frame groove rear sights, with "COLT'S PT./1856", "ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." on the top flat near the breech. 5-round fluted cylinder, with loading lever and a wooden ramrod. Patent markings on the left side of the frame. Smooth straight grip stock, with pewter forearm tip, German silver escutcheons, and a shotgun buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fair, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall, scattered handling marks, and a bright polished spot on the right side of the chamber. The cylinder exhibits extensive sanding marks between the flutes. Stock is good, with some chips absent from the forearm, light sanding of the buttstock, and mild dents. Mechanically good.
