PRF - PROFESSIONALLY REFINISHED OR RESTORED

This is the very first Winchester Model 62 rifle manufactured in 1932. The left rear of the barrel is marked "-MODEL 62- WINCHESTER-/-TRADE MARK- 22 S. L.OR L.R.-", the right rear is marked with the two line address and "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK/MADE IN U.S.A." on the upper tang. The top of the receiver at the breech is marked with the Winchester oval proof and the serial number "1" is marked on the lower tang and front, bottom of the frame. Blade front sight with bead, adjustable rear sight, all blue finish and mounted with a 10 groove forearm and smooth straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. "A" is also complete with a homemade wooden display case with glass front and brass plaque on the inside.

Professionally refinished with 98% of the factory quality blue finish remaining. There are a couple of minor scratches and dings on the barrel ahead of the rear sight and some minor wear on top of the receiver from normal cycling of the action. The wood is fine with almost all of the original finish and some overall scattered minor dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.

OB - EXCELLENT- all original parts; over 80% original finish; sharp lettering, numerals and design on metal; unmarred wood.

As "A" with the addition of the Winchester oval proof on the top of the barrel at the breech and serial numbered "2".

Excellent. The rifle retains 97% original blue finish with some thinning on the muzzle, high edge wear on the receiver, a very small patch of minor pitting on the barrel and wear on the magazine, slide bar and top of the receiver from normal cycling of the action. The wood has been refinished and remains very good with the varnish flaking on the forearm, and 98% varnish remaining on the stock, with several minor dents on the underside near the toe. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent. If you’re a Winchester collector, these rifles are a must have.
