Retailer Cased Early Production Webley Solid Frame Double Action Revolver

This early production, solid frame pre-RIC revolver features a faint "WEBLEY/PATENT" stamped on the left side of the frame. British proofs are present on the barrel and cylinder. The serial number is stamped on the frame under the left grip panel and the number "70" is stamped on the rear of the cylinder. The grips are checkered. Comes with a partitioned wooden case lined in blue felt with a Robert Scott paper label on the inside of the lid and a cartridge block holding 18 Winchester 44 Webley cartridges. The top of the lid has an oval brass presentation initial plate marked "J.E.C.G."

ConditionGood. The revolver has a mottled brown patina with some minor pitting. The grips are also good with the right panel cracked and overall some chipping in the checkering. Mechanically fine. The case is fine with a number of minor handling marks and the lining showing some wear.
