Description:

This is an example of an extremely rare WWII Case V-42 dagger made for the U.S. Navy. In February of 1943 the U.S. Navy received 70 V-42's. They were issued to the members of the U.S.S. Omaha's "Ship's Landing Force". They were issued with the Raider style short sheath and marked U.S.S. Omaha and a serial number. Later in the war the U.S.S. Omaha was defaced to prevent identification. The dagger has a 7 inch blade with long ricasso, with the serrated thumb rest area on one side and marked "CASE", and wooden handle with a spike pommel. Complete with the original leather scabbard with the "USS OMAHA" defaced and numbered "M-16".

Rating Definition:

Very good. The blade shows some minor pitting in the finish. The grip is very good showing some minor wear. The scabbard is very good with some minor flex wear on the upper portion and all the stitching is tight. An overall solid example of a very rare Case V-42 dagger from the U.S.S. Omaha.
