Manufactured in 1942, the last year of production for the First Series Woodsman's. The left side of the barrel is marked with the two line address/1903 and 1918 patent dates, the left side of the frame is marked "THE WOODSMAN", the left side of the slide "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt. The serial number is marked on the front strap and the upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the letter "P" over the Colt "VP" triangle proof, with "84" on the opposite. Fixed front blade and windage adjustable rear sights, serrated trigger, the back strap is marked with the series of horizontal parallel lines indicating the pistol was designed for high velocity .22 Long rifle ammunition, two tone Colt marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips. Comes with an extra two tone Colt marked magazine and a replacement postwar Colt revolver hinged lid box with the Model portion of the end label cut off and marked "HEAVY BARREL".

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, some light spotting on the front strap and a couple minor scratches. The grips are also excellent with a few minor dings and bruises, and sharp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The box is good with tape repaired hinge and lid.
