Description:

1) U.S. Civil War C. Roby 1860 Cavalry Sword, 35 inch double fuller blade with the Roby markings on the left ricasso and the inspector marks and 1865 date on the right. Brass 2 branch guard and a wire wrapped leather grip. With an iron scabbard. 2) U.S. Mansfield & Lamb 1860 sword, 34 3/4 inch 1864 dated blade, with dual branch guard, wire and leather grip, and iron scabbard with belt hanger.

Rating Definition:

1) Fine, with spotting, wear and signs of sharpening on the blade, a mixed patina on the hilt, even wear on the grip, and a mixed brown and gray patina on the scabbard with areas of spotting and scratches. 2) Very fine, with some spotting and wear on the blade, a deep, nearly black patina on the hilt with mellow exposed brass, and light wear on the grip. The hanger shows cracking and scuffs, and the sheath a dark, mixed patina.
