Manufactured from 1863 to 1873. The revolver has an 8 inch barrel and blue finish, casehardened hammer, fire blue trigger and brass trigger guard. The top barrel flat is marked: "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEW YORK. U.S. A./NEW-MODEL". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom barrel flat and on the left side of the frame under the grip. Small single letter inspection marks are stamped on most components. Fitted with smooth walnut grips with a visible boxed cartouche on the lower left side.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The metal surfaces have a smooth mottled brown patina, with a few minor dings on each side of the frame ahead of the cylinder. The left grip is very good with a clear cartouche. The right panel has an area that has been sanded down and the panel has been refinished. There is a screw missing on the front grip strap. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
