Description:

Manufactured in the late 1850s and early 1860s. There are small "B" and "C" inspection marks on most of the components on this revolver with "STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW. YORK." address on left side of frame and "STARR'S PATENT JAN. 15, 1856" on the right side of the frame. Serial numbers match on the front of the barrel lug, on the cylinder, and front of the hammer. The hammer well serial number has been ground off. Fitted with a smooth one piece walnut grip stamped with an oval cartouche on each side.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver has some cold blue touch up present on top of the barrel and right side rear of frame, otherwise retaining 60% of the blue finish with the balance between a smooth brown and gray patina. The hammer retains 90% original case color and 50% of case colors remain on the loading lever, with the overall balance a smooth gray patina. The grip is fine with a series of gouges on the right side and some minor handling marks overall. Action functions but needs minor adjustment as the hammer does not go to full cock.
