Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 84
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

This is a very nice example of a standard pre-war commercial Walther pistol that is complete with an original unmarked pre-war brown leather holster. The left side of the slide has the standard Walther banner followed by the two line address and caliber designation followed by "Mod PPK". The right side of the chamber area of the barrel, and the slide are marked with the "Crown/ N" commercial proof with the serial number (31757k) marked vertically on the right side of the frame behind the trigger. It is fitted with the standard fixed sights and has the one-piece brown checkered wrap around plastic grip with the Walther banner at the top on each side. It is complete with an original magazine that is marked on the lower right side "WALTHER/PPK/7.65 m/m", with matching mottled brown finger extension base. It is accompanied by an excellent medium brown, unmarked commercial leather holster.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% of the original Walther blue finish showing edge and high spot wear overall with slightly more thinning on the front grip strap, with the blue finish on the slide having taken on a slightly more purplish tint. It has a matching slide. The grips are in very good condition with some minor chipping of the plastic at the top on the left side with a couple of age cracks starting at the back and top right side. The holster is in excellent condition with nice tight stitching overall with a nice even color, showing only minor scratches and handling marks. The leather tab on the front appears to have been an old replacement or was resewn years ago as the color and condition of the leather matches the holster perfectly. A very nice pre-war commercial Walther PPK rig.

Catalog Page: 84
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

This is a very nice example of a desirable pre-war Walther model 8 pocket pistol. This example is a late 3rd model with the exposed extractor, that was probably manufactured around 1927. These were intended literally as a vest or pocket pistol, prior to WWII. It has the standard one-line Walther Patent/Model 8 markings on the left side of the slide with the standard one-line Walther factory markings on the right side. The right side of the slide and frame have a single "Crown/N" proof. It is fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips with the "CW" logo on one side and "6.35" on the other, with the Walther Banner at the bottom of each grip. It is complete with one original Walther marked magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% of the original blue finish overall with just edge and high spot wear. The grips are in very good condition with nice markings and checkering with just a small amount of warpaging at the bottom of each grip panel. A nice early pre-war Walther pistol.
