This is a very nice rare, decorative 8 gallon water cooler made by the Monmouth Pottery Co. of Monmouth, Illinois. Made circa 1893 to 1906, the water cooler features beautifully decorated upper edge, which is painted in cobalt blue. One side features and relief standing man and another man kneeling next to a woman with a in an oval with a decorative relief border. Directly above the oval is marked "Monmouth Pottery Co.". The spout hole is directly below the image. The bottom edge is decorated with a floral motif, also in cobalt blue. It measures approximately 15 1/4 inches high, the opening at the top is 11 3/4 inches wide and at its widest point is approximately 14 1/2 inches wide. The spout and lid are absent.

Excellent with a minor chip on the mans left foot, a moderate chip on the upper edge and a hairline crack on the side.
