Description:

This is a very nice rare, decorative 8 gallon water cooler made by the Monmouth Pottery Co. of Monmouth, Illinois. Made circa 1893 to 1906, the water cooler features beautifully decorated upper edge, which is painted in cobalt blue. One side features and relief standing man and woman with a man kneeling next to them in an oval with a decorative relief border. Directly above the oval is marked "Monmouth Pottery Co.". The spout hole is directly below the image. The bottom edge is decorated with a floral motif, also in cobalt blue. It measures approximately 15 1/4 inches high, the opening at the top is 11 3/4 inches wide and at its widest point is approximately 14 1/2 inches wide. The spout and lid are absent.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with a couple of minor cracks on the bottom of the inside.
