This a nice example of a "G" date code Luger pistol. This Luger was produced in 1935 and is the most common of the letter coded Lugers as it signified the large rearmament of the German military. The top of the chamber is stamped with the single letter "G" and the toggle is marked "S/42" for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with two "eagle/63" proof marks and a droop winged firing eagle, both of which are also marked on the left side of the toggle and the barrel. It has the standard safety and extractor markings and is correctly numbered in the military manner with full serial (2697) on the frame, barrel and barrel extension with the last two digits (97) stamped on the small parts. This pistol is complete with two nickel plated magazines both with aluminum bases, one that is matching to the pistol and the other one marked, (2109/e/Eagle63) with a "CARL HEINISCHEN/DRESDEN" marked holster dated 1934 with "15./J.R.23" stamped on top of flap, and a proofed take down tool.

Very fine with 90% of the slightly faded original blue finish overall with wear and finish loss on the edges and high spots overall, with blue loss and slight thinning on the side plate hump and grip straps. The grips are in very good condition with nice checkering on both sides with even honest wear across the tops of the checkering. The holster is in excellent condition with nice clear sharp markings and proofs, with tight stitching on the side and magazine pouch, with the stitching on the tops of both belt loops slightly coming loose. At one time the face of the leather had a high luster shine to it which has worn or flaked off from use and age. The leather underneath still shows the original WWII black dye. A very nice example of an early all complete WWII Nazi Luger rig.
