The included Cody letter confirms the serial number, caliber, and 20 inch barrel with the shotgun shipped on October 7, 1899 along with four other Model 1897s (order number 40862). It features a single bead sight with the two line address/patent dates marking and "12/CYL" on the barrel. The slide arm is stamped with the two line model marking. Grooved round forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with flat steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches.

Excellent. The shotgun retains 97% plus bright original blue finish. The wood is also excellent with a couple of barely noticeable hairline cracks in the grip area and the center, underside area of the pump handle, with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
