Description:

Manufactured in 1862. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line New York address and "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame. The cylinder is roll engraved with the Texas naval battle scene. The complete matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, back strap and the matching partial number "2069" is marked on the cylinder, (6 is over stamped with 9), wedge and cylinder pin. The left side breech end of the barrel is marked with a script "DD" , there is a "K" and script "D" on the cylinder and an "H" on the top of the back strap, behind the trigger guard bow and on the bottom of the grip on the right side. The back strap and recoil shields are cut for a shoulder stock. Blue finish with casehardened frame and loading lever. Fitted with a one-piece smooth walnut grip with a boxed "CLB" cartouche on the left side and "JT" on the right side.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish mixed with smooth brown patina. The frame has a smooth mottled brown patina with 40% original case colors in the protected areas. The grip is very fine with a tiny chip on the left toe, some minor wear on the lower edges and a few minor handling marks. The markings and cylinder scene are crisp. The action is excellent.
