Description:

Manufactured in 1863. The top of the barrel is marked "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.AMERICA", the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT", and "36 CAL" is marked on the left trigger guard shoulder. Full matching serial number is stamped on the underside of the barrel lug, frame trigger guard and back strap and the partial number "1886" is stamped on the wedge. The numbers on the frame and barrel lug are lightly struck. The fluted rebated cylinder is stamped with the 1850 patent date on one of the flutes. Nickel finish with silver plated brass trigger guard and back strap. Fitted with a smooth one-piece varnished walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine as period replated (possibly retailer applied). The revolver retains 95% nickel finish showing some scattered minor flaking. The grip straps retain 97% original silver plating. The grip is very good with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
