Description:

The letter opener measures 15 1/2 inches long with a 8 inch long blade. The width of the blade is 1 inch at its widest point. The hardwood has a very attractive grain pattern. The pommel is a carved head of a Confederate solider. The carving was done by a well accomplished wood carver and shows exquisite facial details. The blade is inscribed "HENRY LEVE 2nd Regt. La Vols." and "FORT DELAWARE 1864."

Rating Definition:

Very good with a minor chip missing from the kepi. A very attractive piece of folk art.
