This matching pair of revolvers were manufactured by Thomas Horsley of York, England. Thomas Horsley established his business in 1830. Three generations of Thomas' ran the business until 1954. Thomas III's son Anthony took over the company after 1954 and the firm closed in 1959. The top strap is marked "THOMAS HORSLEY, YORK" and the left upper barrel flat is marked with two British proof marks. The revolvers have been modified from their original percussion configuration and an ejector rod assembly is mounted on the right side of the frame and a loading gate has been added to the right side. Blue finish with bright hammer, loading gate assembly, ejector assembly, trigger and cylinder pin. Fitted with two piece checkered walnut grips. The pair come complete in an original mahogany case with a inset brass disk on the lid and green open weave fabric lining. In the case is a Dixon oiler and one 450 Eley cartridge. The barrel gauges at 45 caliber. The 450 caliber cartridge in the case does not chamber in the revolver.

Rating Definition:

Very good as period refurbished. The revolver retains 60% blue finish with a smooth mottled gray and brown patina on the balance. The bright components remain bright with some small areas of discoloration. The grips are very fine with a small amount of light bruising in the otherwise very crisp checkering. The action needs work, it does not always function correctly, the cylinder turns but the hammer does not cock in double action. The markings are clear. The case is very good with a full width crack and two smaller cracks on the bottom. The lining is very good with some moderate contact wear from the cylinders, and frayed and absent fabric caused by the front sights.
