Description:

First listed as a "Merchant" in 1835, Samuel Spang was a selling of arms and fishing equipment, along with "Wallace" his unidentified partner circa 1843-1845. Bead front and notch rear sights with "LONDON" on the top flat, a silver band ahead of the breech and scroll engraving on the breech, tang, lock and hammer with "SPANG & WALLACE/PHIa" on the lock. Checkered stock with a hardwood ramrod, an engraved belt hook on the left side, blank inscription oval and a small patch box on the butt.

Rating Definition:

Very good with 30% of the faint original Damascus twist pattern on the barrel showing some light wear and spotting with traces of color on the casehardened components and showing a dark gray overall. The stock is very good with cracks and dents. Mechanically very good.
