Description:

This 19th/20th Century shield has almost the entire face side covered in floral scroll and dragon themed etching. There is a central cone shaped spike that projects 1 3/8 inches above the surface with a ring of roping around it. The outer edge is rolled and roped. The interior is lined in thin dark brown leather and there are two fixed steel handles that are wrapped in leather. Measures 21 1/4 inches in diameter. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Rating Definition:

Good, there is a mottled gray/brown patina on the exterior being darkest in the protected areas. Most of the etching remains visible. The shield has some minor dents and minor warping.
