Description:

This shield is an electrotype of a real embossed shield that is located in a museum. It has a Mediterranean battle scene around the outside edge with a central hub that projects 3 1/2 inches from the surface. The outside edge is rolled. The backside has a hanging loop attached. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Rating Definition:

Good, there is a dark aged patina overall with some bright areas on the high edges. There are a number of small dents scattered overall. There is a deformed section at the top of the hub along with some dings and a small crack on the side. The outer edge has an area of cracking. An excellent display piece!
