Description:

The skull is composed of 2-pieces riveted and brazed together. The visor is 1-piece with simple cut decoration around the pivot points. The bevor is composed of 2-pieces riveted together with a decorative cut edge design, a square post that fits into a socket on the breast plate along with a falling buff held in place by a spring loaded button. There is a makers mark of three hearts over an anvil on the right side of the bevor. The pauldrons have the same cut edge design as the bevor. The breastplate has an ornate cut decoration in the center with a folding lance rest on the right side. The back plate has 2 decorative brass Fleur-de-Lis rivets that fasten the leather straps. The rondels have the same cut edge design as the pauldrons and bevor with ribs meeting at the center in a raised point. Fully articulating finger gauntlets. Winged elbow and knee cops. There is a cod piece and matching tassets. The greaves are adjustable with 3 different holes for a pin to go into just under the knee cop. The sabatons have short curved points. With a decorative hand and a half sword with a 40 inch long blade. Stands 70 inches tall x 27 inches wide x 21 inches deep. With a 2-step oak base with carved decoration measuring 12 1/2 inches tall x 23 inches wide x 23 inches deep. A desirable 15th century Gothic style armor smithed in the 20th century by a master craftsman. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Rating Definition:

Very good with scattered minor pitting and oxidation overall. There are a few scattered minor dings overall. Wooden base is also very good.
