Description:

Measuring 8 3/4 inches overall, with a 5 1/4 inch blade, marked on the right side with a pair of deeply carved bonji symbols, and the left showing a 3 1/8 inch long spear design, installed in a silver fitted collar. The aikuchi pattern hilt and sheath are both finished in black lacquer with golden lacquer flowers, and fitted with deeply cut floral engraved silver bands. Additionally, the saya bears a 3-symbol signature atop the throat and a nesting pair of silver kogai.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with blade shows some minor pitting, mostly on the left side near the tip and on the spine, with a well defined temper line and sharply cut decoration. The silver components show a deeply aged patina on the exterior, with well defined floral decoration. A few minor cracks are present around the kogai, otherwise the alcquer is excellent with minor handling marks.
