Produced by an unknown maker, this pistol is equipped with a 4-barrel cluster in a square profile, which rotates freely on a center axis. Each barrel has a cannon style muzzle, a pair of raised decorative bands down the length, and an individual flashpan with swiveling cover. Filling the space between each barrel is a metal panel with engraved dot accents. These accents are repeated on the lockplate and tangs, with a cut through leaf design on the skeletonized trigger and a lanyard swivel just behind the barrels. Fitted with a smooth round knob grip, with a drilled-through lanyard hole and a round pommel cap. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection

Rating Definition:

Good, with a mixed gray patina overall, showing areas of spotting and a small amount of pitting. The wood is good, with a few areas of filler, chips and a few cracks. Mechanically good.
