This is an exceptionally nice example of a very a scarce mid-WWII Commercial contract Mauser Banner P.08 Luger pistol chambered in 9 mm Luger, with two matching magazines. These Lugers were manufactured right up to the end of production just like the commercial K98 rifles and generally fall into the range of those considered as a standard commercial Luger that were intended for sales within Germany to high ranking civilian officials or in some cases a sudo-military or police contract. They usually exhibit excellent workmanship with a high quality all salt blue finish with walnut grips. The chamber is stamped "42" for 1942, the last year the Luger pistol was manufactured by the Mauser factory, with the Mauser Banner trademark stamped on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension and breechblock are stamped with a single Nazi "Eagle/N" commercial proof acceptance mark with no other proofs on the pistol. The pistol is numbered in the military fashion with the full serial number (8187y) stamped on the front of the frame and not on the barrel with serial number (8187) stamped on the left side of the barrel extension. The last two digits of the serial number (87) are stamped on various small parts. It is complete with two FXO Eagle 37 proofed magazines with the pinned aluminum bases, each stamped with only 8187 and no other proofs. It is complete with a late production brown leather holster that is marked on the backside, "A. FISCHER/BERLIN.C./1942/Nazi Eagle Proof".

Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with one patch of pitting present on right center frame pad. The grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering showing minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The holster is in very fine condition with a nice medium brown color overall with clear sharp markings on the back with nice tight stitching just showing some soiling or light staining on the lower front area. As noted this Luger has all matching numbers to include both magazines. A scarce late production Mauser Banner Commercial Luger.
