Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 Single Action revolver with adjustable target rear sight and pinned rectangular front sight with long bead. The revolver has a high polish blue finish on the barrel, frame and cylinder. The hammer and trigger guard are color casehardened. The two-piece black hard rubber grips are checkered and have the S&W monogram on the top flat. The barrel rib is roll-stamped "+ SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A.+" in one line with a Maltese Cross at either end. The S&W monogram is roll-stamped on the right side of the frame. The full serial number "33286" is stamped on the bottom of the butt, rear face of the cylinder, rear of the barrel and underside of the barrel latch. All of the visible serial numbers match.

Very fine plus. The revolver retains 90% of the original high polish blue finish. There is some finish loss at the muzzle and the blue on the back strap is thin. The sides of the barrel and frame have some minor handling marks. The hammer and trigger guard exhibit 90% of the original and vibrant casehardened finish. All of the markings are crisp. The grips have faded slightly but remain excellent. This is a very good example of a scarce S&W New Model No. 3 Single Action revolver with target front and rear sights.
