Description:

This is an early post WWI 06/20 Commercial Luger pistol, produced with the desirable grip safety features and the "Gesichert" marking which is another unique feature. Although this is a standard 1920 commercial model, almost 98% of this variation were manufactured without the grip safety feature. That was actually a hold over from the earlier 1906 lugers production and is seldom encountered in the1920 models. The chamber area is blank and it has the standard "DWM" logo on the front toggle. It has the early commercial style serial number placement with only the full serial number stamped on the front of the frame and only the last two digits on the takedown lever, trigger and underside of the side plate. The left side of the barrel extension, underside of the barrel, left side of the breech block and toggle are all marked with the "Crown/N" commercial proof. The only other commercial mark on the pistol is that the left side of the frame it is very lightly factory etched "GERMANY". The export mark is original and this form of marking may actually indicate that this is a very early 1920 export model.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus with 99% of the blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear with 98% of the straw colors on the various small parts. The grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides. This scarce variation has matching numbers except the magazine as noted above.
