This model was the first slide-action repeating shotgun built by Winchester and manufactured between 1893 and 1897, with approximately 31,000 made. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/Model 1893 patent dates, the two line model designation is marked on the slide arm and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame. Single bead sight, exposed hammer, choke gauges at modified. Mounted with a grooved walnut forearm and plain round knob pistol grip stock with an iron shotgun buttplate.

Fine. The barrel has 40% blue with the balance having a smooth brown patina. The magazine tube retains 60% original blue finish with a patch of moderate oxidation on the forward area, (signs of cleaning in the same area), some minor spotting on the breech end, and wear from normal usage. The receiver retains 30% thin original blue finish mixed with smooth plum brown patina. The wood is also fine with some overall scattered minor dings and dents. There is a separated hairline crack present at the top of the wrist running the full length and there are a couple of minor dents on the toe of the buttplate. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
