Manufactured in 1976. Standard two line address/patents dates on the right side of the barrel, "DETECTIVE SPEC./38 SPECIAL CTG." on the left side and the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. The trigger guard is factory engraved "Show Gun". Complete with leatherette display case and factory letter that verifies the caliber, barrel length, finish, grips and factory engraving on trigger guard. It was sold to Mr. Mel Bower at the 1991 Colt Collectors Assoc. Show and shipped to Mr. Bower on November 18, 1991. The letter also indicates the gun was displayed at the 1982 Shot Show in Atlanta.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% plus of the original nickel finish with some light handling marks and a very light cylinder drag line. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering and a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some handling marks and minor edge wear.
