Description:

The included factory letter confirms the caliber, finish, lanyard swivel and wood stocks. The revolver was shipped to U.S. Commanding Officer, Ordnance Depot, Manila, Philippine Islands, on February 3, 1911. Standard Colt markings with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", "P" and "RAC" on barrel underside. Frame has "RAC" and "GWS" inspector marks. "R.A.C." on rear cylinder face, with "K" on the cylinder latch. The left grip has "RAC" letters individually stamped and the right grip 1909 liberty head nickel with raised out liberty head. Consignor states that the nickel was shot by Buffalo Bill. We cannot verify the aforementioned statement!

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 75% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The revarnished grips are very good with the above mentioned custom applied decorations, some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
