This is a rare pre-WWII 1st issue revolver (serial number 331,000-490,000) as manufactured in 1939 with U.S. military inspection marking. The revolver has standard Colt barrel markings with a U.S. flaming bomb proof on the top left of the frame. The left side plate has the standard Rampant Colt stamping and the trigger guard is stamped with the Colt factory triangle proof. The revolver is fitted with checkered Rampant Colt medallion grips. With a Bluemel leather holster.

Very good. The revolver retains traces of original blue finish in and around the protected areas with the balance an attractive smooth dark patina. There is some very scattered pin point pitting. The worn grips are good with a couple small chips missing near the bottom. The holster is fine.
