Fixed sights, with the two line, two block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide, "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" on the right. "WGP" (Walter G. Penfield) marked frame, with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on the front left side, long trigger, wide hammer, "P/H" barrel, short grip safety and flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Checkered walnut grips. Included with the pistol is a 1917 printing of the 1914 revised edition of "Description of the Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, Model of 1911" from the Ordnance Department, and a squad cleaning kit, consisting of a "US" stamped metal box containing 10 brass rods, 10 brush heads, an oiler and a grease can.

Very fine as professionally restored/refinished, showing 98% of the current blue, with some light handling marks overall, a few areas of touch-up at the muzzle and slide serrations, and a plum patina on the spring plug. The grips are very fine, with a few small dents, minor chips, and crisp checkering. Screwdrivers are absent, otherwise the cleaning kit is very good. Mechanically excellent.
