The left side of the slide is stamped with the two line patent dates (1902, 1905, 1911, 1913) followed by the two line Hartford address with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The right side of the slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" followed by "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 45." "Eagle/S14" marked frame, diamond pattern checkered grips and two-tone unmarked magazine. Around serial number 340,000 a limited number of commercial slides were transferred to meet the increase in military contract production.

Very good as refinished. The pistol retains traces blue finish with the balance an artificial smooth gray patina showing some minor pitting (mostly on the slide). The grips are fine with some scattered minor blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
