Smith & Wesson 38 Safety Hammerless 5th Model revolver were manufactured from 1907 to 1940 with this having been beautifully period New York engraved. The top of the barrel rib has the one line address, left barrel side has the caliber marking and the right side of the frame has the S&W trademark. A floral scroll and punch engraving covers the frame and barrel lug sides with the pattern extending to the barrel sides and cylinder chambers. The top strap is engraved with an arrow through a ribbon and the top rear of the frame is engraved with a geometric pattern. Nickel plated with gold plated barrel latch, cylinder, trigger, trigger guard and grip safety and blue niter screw heads. Fitted with smooth ivory grips. Matching numbers on butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch.

Excellent as New York engraved with nearly all of the nickel and gold plating. The grips are excellent with an attractive grain pattern and color. Mechanically excellent.
