Often referred to as the "Baby Russian", this top break, auto ejecting revolver is chambered for the Smith & Wesson 38 centerfire cartridge. The top of the barrel rib is marked with the two line address/patent dates and the matching serial number is marked on the butt, barrel latch, top strap under the latch, rear face of the cylinder and stamped on the inside of the right grip panel. Five round cylinder, pinned blade front sight, notch rear sight, all blue finish with casehardened hammer and fitted with smooth walnut grips. Complete in an original green hinged lid box with picture label that reads "SMITH & WESSON/picture of revolver/No. 38./Automatic Ejector./SPRINGFIELD, MASS.". The inside of the lid has the "Directions for Use" label affixed, which is marked in red at the top "M.W. ROBINSON Gen'l Agent, 79 Chambers St., NEW YORK". Robinson was Smith & Wesson's largest distributor.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 75% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. There is a small amount of minor spotting and a few minor dings. The grips are very fine with a few minor dents and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is very good. The box is very good with typical wear on the exterior and some staining on the inside, otherwise excellent. The picture label is still very good.
