This example of a deluxe Model 1894 Winchester Lever Action Rifle with a tapered lightweight 26 inch barrel manufactured in 1906. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patent date ahead of the rear sight, the Winchester oval proof followed by "38-55" at the breech and the Winchester oval proof is marked on the top of the receiver at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK" and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Ramped dovetailed blade front and adjustable buck horn rear sights, blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, 1/2 magazine tube and mounted with a deluxe nicely figured checkered walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a checkered hard rubber Winchester shotgun buttplate. The accompanying factory letter verifies the extra light takedown rifle configuration, 38/55 caliber, round barrel, oil finished fancy checkered stock, 1/2 magazine, shotgun butt with rubber buttplate, that it was received in the warehouse on September 20, 1906 and shipped out the next day to order number 71881.

Excellent. The rifle retains 90% plus original blue finish with some edge wear and patches of surface rust present on the receiver. The hammer retains strong original case colors mixed with a smooth gray patina. The lever retains 90% original bright case colors with some areas of contact faded to a smooth gray patina. The wood is excellent with only a few very minor handling marks and very crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. This is an exceptional Deluxe Winchester Model 1894 Rifle!
