Ivory accented Lyman blade front sight with an adjustable sporting rear sight, bearing the two line Winchester address and patent dates ahead of the rear sight and "45-70" towards the breech. Blue receiver with casehardened components, marked with the serial number and patent dates on the lower tang and the three-line "MODEL 1886/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK" on the upper tang. Checkered forearm and pistol grip stock, with a 2/3 magazine tube, metal forearm cap, hard rubber Winchester-marked grip cap and a checkered flat hard rubber Winchester marked buttplate.

Excellent, showing 90% plus of the original blue finish overall, with bright edge wear, areas of brown patina and scattered handling marks. Bright and vivid case colors are present on the hammer and lever. The stock is excellent, with some light dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
