The full matching serial number is stamped on the underside of the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, back strap and arbor pin and the barrel wedge has the number "8367." The fluted rebated cylinder is stamped with the 1850 patent date on one of the flutes. The left side of the trigger guard is stamped with the letter "L." Blue finish with casehardened loading lever, hammer and frame and silver plated brass grip straps. The revolver is fitted with a smooth one piece varnished walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as partially refinished (cylinder). The barrel retains 60% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The battered cylinder has a smooth artificial dark patina. The hammer, loading lever and frame retain 60% original case colors. The grip straps retain 40% original silver plating with the exposed brass having an attractive patina. The grip is fine with a few hairline cracks near the top, a couple chips missing near the bottom (left side) and some minor handling marks with much of the varnish remaining. Mechanically fine.
