Description:

Measuring 16 1/4 inches wide, 9 1/4 inches deep and 2 1/2 inches tall, this mahogany case is configured to hold a pair of Colt Model 1861 Navy revolvers. The case has an attractively varnished exterior with brass fittings including the inlaid brass corner reinforcements, unmarked inscription plate on top of the lid and closure hook latches. The partitioned interior is lined in red wine velvet and has nine compartments. The key for the case is included.

Rating Definition:

Fine as relined. The case shows minor handling marks on the exterior and minor wear at the corners. The lining has high spot and contact wear. A rare example of a period case for a pair of Colt Model 1861 revolvers.
